AAm buy a previous house with Daniel J Longo and would not recommend them to other home buyers.
First off I tend to be a very positive person and only put energy into doing positive reviews on companies and product or not doing them at all. Everyone's experience varies different for personal perceptions and communication's break down. Housing is a little different story. It's important that this communication is created for organizations like Terra Firma so other possible customers are aware of what experiences the current customers have since you are signing a legal contract. I must say I did have some uncomfortable feelings about moving in. The building was empty out of about 16 units only 1 was rented. When asked I was tole this was because everyone that previously rented were in school and after school was out moved away. Later after moving in to find out that the building was infested with bed bugs. Had more reviews been on the property I would have NEVER leased from from this company. Like others have experienced I was being charged for options I never authorized (On site parking, Multiple lines for internet). I own a small 10lbs dog and I was told that pet rent was $15+each pound which my total would have been $25. On my statement I would bounce between $25-65 one month it even stated I owned $100 dollars and when I called he said it was a past due amount which I had the records to show everything was paid in full. I have lived in places that pooled gas utilities and never had problems that were so extremely inconsistent. This was one of the smallest apartments I have ever lived in and my invoice would vary in the hundreds of dollars per month. I understand that mistakes are possible and I wanted to believe that after the first one I was not going to have such issues but I was experiencing the same problems month after month. I am younger in my twenties and noticed most of the people in my building are around the same age demographic. After talking to a few neighbors most never even noticed the up charges and admin errors being made until I brought it to their attention. I begin to feel targeted and taken advantage of for that fact that I may be young or inexperienced. I was very upset. being a college student I paid for the internet service as I needed to have internet for homework. I was originally told by him the service was great. I later experienced three out of four weekends a month and at least one night a week if not more the system was down and would not be solved because management didn't work nights and weekends. I would have to wait until Monday or Tuesday when he was back in the office. I also had problems with the heat not consistently working. One night my neighbors came over and asked if I had DJ's personal phone number because he has not replied to any calls or emails about their heat not working. They said they were going on the 3rd night with no heat and under 10 degrees temps at night. Do some research. You will find that this is not the worst place on each but it is absolutely not worth the money they are asking for. After all said and done I broke my lease with turned into a little mess at the time but I am much happier that I was able to find something in the same price range that is marginally better in quality and standards.

I rented an apt. from DJ (06-07) and even though the place itself wasn't the greatest, it served its purposes for me at the time. DJ always went the extra mile to get things fixed and repaired. I'm surprised by the negative reviews. Fortunately, I have a very different experience.

Terra Firma, run by DJ Longo, is by far the worst landlord I have ever had. The company is mismanaged and understaffed, and most of the work is (not) done by DJ himself. He is dishonest, petty, inattentive, and uncaring. I would not recommend that anyone, even my enemies, rent from this individual. A few examples of why this company/person is so horrible: For the first five months of the lease, EVERY bill arrived with errors on it in his favor - first the pet rent (!) increased, then the parking rent increased, then he tried to charge for internet (which I never signed up for). Some friends of mine living in the same building went without heat for most of November and December. In early May, the stairs broke and were not repaired until mid-June. Even when they were repaired, the contractor who fixed them told me that it was only a temporary fix and that DJ had declined to fix them properly. DO NOT, under any circumstances, do any business with this scumbag.

His property management skills more lack there of, make this one person you do not want to cross paths with. STAY AWAY!!!

This agent is a weasel. He was a slumlord and has not returned a security deposit and ignores contact attempts. Do not work this agent, he is a greedy money hungry agent who does not care about the customer, only about his pocket. He provides poor service and I have never had a worse experience in my life.
