Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I love the interaction with people. I have a B.A. in Psychology, so I love getting to understand what makes a house a home for first-time home buyers and helping them find the perfect home. I also love the thrill of negotiating with other agents. The best day of my job is always the day I get to hand the keys to the new home to my clients.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
There are always challenges in Real Estate Market. The biggest challenge I currently face is making my residential buyer's offers stand out. We are competing with so many other offers it is a challenge to get my client's offer noticed. With some creativity, and persistent professional follow-up, I'm having success.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
With all of the Foreclosed properties and distressed sales of homes going on you never really know what you're going to get before you walk into some of these homes. I have a blog, and a series of stories entitles RE-Oh My. In which I describe and document all of the crazy sights I've seen in these places.
What is your best characteristic?
My best characteristic is my innate optimistic outlook on life. It keeps me from allowing the stress levels to adversely affect my life.
Who or what inspires you the most?
My fear of failure would probably be my biggest motivator. Knowing that these transactions are pivotal moments in my clients' lives keeps me sharp and focused so as to keep the transaction in line with my client's individual goals.
What is the best advice you ever received?
The best advice that I ever received would have be to "Show up and smile... even if you think you're going to get punched in the face."
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I love traveling, and seeing new places. I haven't quite settled on a single location just yet.
