What year did you become a real estate agent?
1992
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
15
What is the average home price in your market?
$560,000
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Yes, renovation of early and mid-century homes throughout the San Diego Metro Region, creating a modern gentrication in the city. What was once an exodus to the suburbs is now a return to updated urban living, whether you're a condo or single family home owner.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
Every day is different and my time is my own.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Clients trying to outsmart the market and time their sale or purchase to within the minute of what they think is perfect. And clients who think they know more than they do because of the Internet. They know enough to be dangerous to themselves sometimes!
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I have had very few "I must have it this second" client moments. Most of my sales commence over time, maybe two weeks or longer. My greatest success is to be able to keep a client hanging in the deal, especially when deals don't happen overnight anymore.
What is your best characteristic?
Patience -- at least on the outside. And my intelligence.
Who or what inspires you the most?
Believe it or not, Hillary Clinton...and...going way back now...Harriet Tubman.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Everything works out the way it's supposed to. I don't believe "everything" always goes as it's supposed, but it helps to ease the little blows you always go through in a real estate career. And I never burn bridges.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
The city of San Diego. Where I already live! But I would also love a second home in NYC near Central Park.
