I have never had the misfortune of meeting Mr. Gillespie in person and hopefully never will. Judging by his completely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL response to a property inquiry I placed through Realtor.com, I would NEVER hire this man. I inquired about a rental property in Orange County. We are planning to relocate from SD to OC this Summer. I stated that we would like to move mid July, no later than 8-1, but were flexible with our dates. This is his unjustifiably rude reply to my simple inquiry below: Andy Gillespie agillespie@cox.net 10:58 AM (2 hours ago) to me "8-1 move-in date?! Really Pam, you are totally wasting your time.... rentals don't last a week up in this market and you are" Not sure what he was planning on saying in the conclusion of his email, but then again, who f'ing cares!!! I think I've seen enough to know this guy is a JERK! How can you afford to treat prospective clients like crap in this market?? Good Luck, buddy!

Very good friends of ours recommended Alison to us as we were getting ready to put our home on the market. They raved about how she sold their homes quickly, and also remained in close contact with them LONG after their homes were sold. Bayard is a very personable agent and went above and beyond normal expectations for a real estate agent. While my fiance and I were working with him, he was very good at communicating with us either via email or phone while we were talking to set up appointments or reviewing houses we had already seen. Bayard was extremely accommodating, especially when he braved the weather with us to look at houses when there was snow on the ground or when it happened to rain during our scheduled appointments. Toni was far from a good experience. Not only did she NOT sell my house, I am very aware that this is a poor market, she and her "team" (aka: husband) refused to do the marketing that she stated is what sets them apart from other "basic" realtors. In the time that my home was listed with soldontoni.com and Keller Williams my home was only shown once...yes ONCE! When my contract ended she demanded that I pay her $350 to cover her "expenses". When I refused she threatened that she would sue me and it would be much over the $350 she was demanding. Since I am a single person who doesn't have a large amount of disposable income or a lawyer on retainer I didn't have the ability to fight her. If I had to do it again I would interview a bunch of Realtors and see through her fast talking, "I'm the best" persona. Please find a different Realtor to aid you in your sale or purchase! You will save yourself a lot of heartache and pain...not to mention money!

Mark's exceptional knowledge of the market and his strong negotiation skills RE: rental leases are marred by his hot-head impatience, unprofessional conduct (i.e., expecting the client to be available for viewings with only 1-2 hour's notice), and occasional bullying tactics inn order to push a client into accepting a property too hastily. Other agents I've worked with over the years put the CLIENT'S concerns first. Mark's general attitude seemed to be: "I'm always right and don't you forget it!" (If I were his manager, I'd recommend he take sensitivity training.) For all the above reasons, I would hesitate to recommend him to my friends and business associates without first warning them about his difficult personality style.

I selected Thomas Chaves as our New Mexico Realtor, online. I emailed our interest in working with him and he responded promptly. This was just prior to New Year's 2011. I'm was out-of-state buyer. Even though we lived in Albuquerque for a year (a few years ago) and know our way around (which helps), Thomas took on the challenge of working with me remotely. I believe he has a special designation and training in this. Having worked in the construction trade, Thomas has unique skills in sizing up houses that are stable, yet good deals. He is experienced in how the HUD home bidding and buying process works. He is able to point interested home buyers toward the online systems that can help them select homes they are interested in seeing. In working with us remotely, Thomas took a video camera to a home we were interested in. He posted the video online for our access. This way we could tell enough to know we wanted to bid on it. Thomas helped us through the bidding process and our contract was accepted. This was the beginning. I tend to be a "type A" homebuyer. Why look at the big picture when you can sweat the small stuff? Once I latch on to a house I want to buy, I'll drive anyone nuts until it's mine. I traveled to Albuquerque right before the big winter storm of February 2011. We were supposed to close on 2/8. Suddenly, the HUD home I was buying could not get it's inspections, meters, hookups. The entire state of NM was under a state of emergency. The home inspection was delayed. The closing was delayed twice. Homeowner's insurance policy effective dates were delayed. The gas company took twelve additional days to set a gas meter and turn on the gas. We were in the unfortunate position of getting the electricity and water turned on before there was gas for the furnace. Thomas brought one of his own space heaters over to help keep the pipes from freezing in some of the coldest, sub-zero weather to strike New Mexico in nearly forty years. My travel plans were delayed by a week. Through all of this, Thomas stayed in constant communication with me, offering concrete and moral support. He went above and beyond the role of realtor and became a trusted friend. The world is shifting and changing around us (literally) and Thomas (having experienced, firsthand, the perils of war as an Afghanistan veteran) stays calm, focused, loyal, and battle-ready. I recently had the opportunity to work with Mr. Gillespie. My first impression of Andy was excellent, but prior to selecting him as my agent, I saw this negative review and decided to investigate it. First, I discovered that the subject transaction was actually a LEASE and NOT a sale. I further discovered (from sources other than Andy) that Andy didn't make a penny from the transaction, because when Andy sells a home to a client, and they later need to relocate (but cannot sell their existing home for whatever reason), he leases the existing home at his OWN cost and expense - WITHOUT COLLECTING A COMMISSION. Mr. R. Daniels was extremely bitter, because he was not selected as the most qualified "Lessee" in this highly desirable gated community of Mission Viejo which seldom has homes available for lease. Plain and simple. This bold lie told by Mr. Daniels prompted me to investigate him further. It turns out that Mr. Daniels spent 8 years in college to earn a 4 year degree from a state college where only a 3.0 GPA is required, and nearly all students graduate in 4 years. Since Mr. Daniels graduated in 2004, he has lost 12 jobs in 6 years. I have quickly concluded that Mr. Daniels is a bitter young slacker who cannot hold down a job. I'm extremely glad that I did my homework, and I couldn't be happier with my honest, hard working realtor, Andy Gillespie. I will provide a separate review on my experiences with Mr. Gillespie as my realtor. In this review, I merely felt the need to defend the reputation of an honest man who has been inappropriately and maliciously attacked by this sad and bitter "wannabe" tenant who was simply not qualified to lease an executive home in Mission Viejo.

I was referred to Alison by a friend who had used her in the past. I told her my needs, and what was the nice to haves, and she came up with a bunch of properties that were up my alley. I was overseas for a lot of the initial search, and Alison was great with being able to get back to me quickly even thought I was 9 time zones away. I ended up putting in an offer on a house, which ended up being foreclosed before we could get to closing. I decided to wait it out, and Alison walked me through the buying process for a foreclosure, and answered any questions or concerns that came up, and I was never in the dark. In short, Alison rules. When we were ready to sell our first home and move into something larger we chose Amanda to sell our house and of course to help us with the purchase of the new home. The amount of work that she did for us was more than I ever could have expected or asked of anyone to do. Our situation was very complicated and there were so many balls in the air. The biggest one being baby #3 that was due very soon. So of course we had to sell and close in time to get into the new house, which we did...one week before my due date. Had it not been for her, it wouldn't have happened. Had she not been doing not only her job but also pretty much babysitting the buyer's agent our house would not have sold and we would have lost the house we wanted to purchase. I found Shira's information on this website (thank you!!). This was the very last shot at looking for agents/homes since we had a slew of terrible agents and were so uninterested in looking anymore. Shira helped us make one of the biggest (and best) decisions when it came to buying our first house. She always kept our needs upfront along with what we were comfortable paying and what would work out in the long run. She gave us the pros and cons of every house and weighed them with us to see if it would work. My wife and I moved to San Antonio in the summer of 2009 with the military. As we knew for several (6) months that I would be stationed in San Antonio, we had ample time to find a home that was within our buget, in a great location (with resale potential), and that provided a reasonable commute. And will block any attempts at using your own broker so that he can collect his 6%. Also, is somewhat inappropriate in that he will look you up and down and say whether or not you "fit the profile." Sends emails at 2am that are accusatory, demeaning, and down right offensive. Very unprofessional.

We moved to Corning/Painted Post from the mid-west a couple of years ago. We didn't know anything about the community, housing, schools or where to begin to get the information we needed.
