The average annual sales price in Scottsdale is about $580,000. The median price is about $365,000.
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Many of the first time home buyers are buying homes for much less than the average price and able to get into areas they never could afford before. New builds in the Phoenix area are offering great incentives. North Phoenix and Cave Creek are becoming a strong market again for these buyers. Homes that originally sold in the $550,000-$750,000 are being bought for the low $300,000's.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
The satisfaction I get from helping people fulfill their home dreams is very rewarding.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Dealing with other agents that aren't professional and don't return phone calls and don't follow up with what they are supposed to do on their end. We must protect our clients every way they can and sometimes it can become difficult when the other side is not being cooperative.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
My client was buying a high end home that was completely furnished with all high priced furnishings and accessories. He didn't want any of it and the seller didn't want to deal with moving it all out either. My client wanted everything out the weekend after he closed so he could move in. My partner and I bought everything in the home by offering back some of our commission and created a way to market the furnishings and within the one weekend got rid of every piece of furniture, rugs and accessories. My client was pretty impressed and thankful for our ingenuity and determination to give the best customer service he had ever had.
What is your best characteristic?
I have a tremendous amount of patience and will never push a client to make a decision they might not be comfortable with. When working with buyers I might even advise the negatives of the home that my buyer doesn't even see so they don't buy a home they might regret later on.
Who or what inspires you the most?
Being a Keller Williams agent as the company supports their agents in so many ways and their training and education are the best in the industry. Hearing first hand from top agents throughout the country in how to run a successful business is very inspiring.
What is the best advice you ever received?
This job is not about the money, it's about doing the right thing and working the best you can. If you follow this thinking, the money will eventually come.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I've lived on the east coast in New York, lived on the west coast in Los Angeles, but the most beautiful place to live is where I am right now in Scottsdale, AZ. I have traveled to many different places over the last 30 years and am most happiest in my own country.
