What year did you become a real estate agent?
2004
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
I've been in real estate about 3 years, so I'm a relatively new agent.
What is the average home price in your market?
San Manuel was a mining town, but now is attracting retirees because the prices are more reasonable.
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
The owner's of the mine have been negotiating with developers to come in and build new homes and another golf course. That expansion would also bring in more businesses. We have a top notch airport and a fine golf course now. People come from Saddlebrooke to golf because the rates are lower.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
It is my goal to help people find a home or property that fits their needs best. That is very satisfying. The people I meet also make this a very interesting profession.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
The real estate market is changing quite a bit with the access to properties through the Internet. Buyer's are more sophisticated and that is good. We still explain the process to buyer's and seller's, but many of each are more educated than in previous years. Also, the laws and regulations are changing and that keeps me on my toes.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
One of the first clients I had lived in N.M. and had bought the property over the Internet, sight unseen. Once there, she realized that the climate was too cold and not condusive to raising and working with her horses. She called the office and I was able to help her find an appropriate horse property. She flew out to look it over, this time. It was really great to know that I had helped her out of a untenable situation and into a nice place for her and the horse.
What is your best characteristic?
I am honest; I listen to my clients and try to find a property that they want, to the best of my understanding of their needs. I also keep them informed as to the steps and where we are in the process.
Who or what inspires you the most?
My best friend of many years has probably inspired me the most. She is loyal, hard working and encouraging.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Put God first, family second and the career/profession last. Keeping priorities is very important.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Right here in Southeastern AZ. Before my husband retired, we looked at many places to live, but couldn't find anywhere any more appealing than right here. The mountains are beautiful and we really like it here. Western WA was mostly cloudy and raining and we both got tired or it. Now we see a lot of sun.
