hard to say but probably the mid $250,000 in 2009.
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Phoenix is very affordable now. Investors, people relocating and first time home buyers have a great opportunity to buy a a fine home at a great price.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
My brother and I really enjoy teaching people about real estate and finding them the best home possible. Gene is a marketing fiend and loves creating the marketing to sell a home quickly and for a good price.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Fear is a considerable factor at this time. The corruption and collapse of the mortgage industry has left people feeling very troubled and rightfully so. Our challenge is knowing the market well enough to keep our clients safe and well positioned for the future. We incorporate a number of market analysis tools that help keep us on top of the most recent market trends. This helps our clients on many fronts.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
We recently helped a client buy an amazing bank owned investment property. It was being sold "as is" but we were able to negotiate $15,000 in repairs paid by the seller/bank. It was great fun and an incredible deal for our client.
What is your best characteristic?
People say I am very detailed and I love to negotiate. Gene is way ahead of most agents with regard to internet saavy and knowledge.
Who or what inspires you the most?
The delight of my clients is what keeps me going. I really mean this!!
What is the best advice you ever received?
Do not give up on a transaction... keep working towards the client's best interest until you've reach your goal or done everything possible.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
San Diego for Ron and Santa Barbara for Gene.

We have used the Urban team for three deals and have recommended them on several others simply because they add significant value. With Ron's eye for the contract details and Gene's marketing skills, selling two properties was fast and painless. Gene and Ron Urban are with out doubt, the most Incredible Agents on Earth. Ron and Gene both have the Knowledge and Experience to make your next Real Estate transaction the most "Incredible" deal possible. I should warn you though, do not play Poker with Gene! The fact that he is also an "Incredible" Magician makes cutting cards for a discount a losing proposition!

Ron and Gene helped us purchase our first home back in 2002. It was our first experience with that and they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Then in 2008 we decided to put that house on the market and OF COURSE used Ron and Gene Urban to help us with that and again, something totally new to us and they were great. They always provide good advice and are always there for you if you have questions or concerns. They really care and understand. Before meeting with Ron and Gene back in 2002 we had a different agent, actually a couple different ones and once I found these guys - we wouldn't even consider using anyone else. Miguel has also been working with them to find houses for the company that he works for that they can renovate and such to keep their workers busy during this recession. They are simply wonderful!

Ron and Gene helped us buy the home we currently live in, after selling the one we had in record time for a great price. When selling our home they marketed it aggressively and created research booklets to share with potential buyers, selling not just the home but the whole community. They don't just do their job, they go far beyond and support their clients throughout the whole process. We found the home we loved and they made sure it all went smoothly despite the pricing games of a strong real estate market. And just as the market was about to take a turn for the worse, they talked our parents out of buying an investment property here, when they easily could have taken the sale. They make it clear they are in it for the long haul. Ron and Gene are more than reputable, they are ethical and honest, patient and knowledgeable- there's clearly something magical about the Urban team...you'll see right away. We have no need to move because they helped us find our perfect home, but we refer them without reservation anytime we can. You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone this dedicated and good at what they do when you’re in the market to buy or sell.

My husband and I were working with an agent to find our new home. She was pleasant enough but she was clearly not listening to us. The homes were way over what we said we wanted to spend and not the type we told her we wanted. A friend told us about Ron Urban so we talked to him and really liked what he said. Agent #1 was quickly let go. Ron showed us homes that were acutally less than we said we were willing to spend. He said he wanted to see if there were some deals out there we liked, no reason to spend more than we had to. Bill, my husband, was a bit surprised and even more pleased with the attitude. Sure enought, we found a great home for almost $40,000 less than we thought we'd be spending. Ron gave us so much information on the home and helped us feel safe in our decision. The whole experience was nothing short of fantastic from start to finish. We highly recommend the Urban's.

The Urban brothers helped us sell our home. Simply put, these guys are pros. Their marketing was top notch and the follow through during the sale was great. I use Ron and Gene to both purchase two homes and sell one. They are by far the best agents I have ever used. They go out of thier way to make sure the transaction goes smoothly, listened to our needs and delivered exactly what I wanted. I really like the team approach. I always knew that someone was on the job and looking out for my interests. I have heard others say that they have dealt with agents that they rarely would see. I will say that was never the case with the Urban team. They were often giving me updates on the process and giving input that I felt helped me greatly. They even worked through Christmas eve to help me close.
